PRINCETON, PA, December 15, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Under the direction of American Cycling Group, LLC, Crosby Wood has announced plans to host Chester County's annual Chesco Grand Prix, a series of spectator friendly competitive cycling events. Approximately 300 amateur, women and professional licensed racers will compete, cycling through different towns and villages of Chester County.
The Chesco Grand Prix is designed to bring the community together in celebration of cycling and promote a velodrome coming to Coatesville. The week-long series of activities, including music, youth races, celebrity appearances and more, will entertain Chester County residents from June 27th to July 8th of 2012.
"We are excited to announce our plans for The Chesco Grand Prix," said Crosby Wood, event organizer. "Chester County residents will be lucky to see some skilled professional licensed racers, as well as members of their own community out there racing. The Chesco Grand Prix will not only help Chester County gear up to become a major cycling destination, but also help to stimulate local economies throughout the Chester County."
The Chesco Grand Prix will consist of approximately 300 amateur and professional racers, competing for a total of $50,000 in prize money. The money will be awarded to the winner of each event in the series, as well as to the best overall riders and teams once the series is complete.
"I encourage Chester Country residents to make it out for this big cycling event," said event organizer Crosby Wood. "The Chesco Grand Prix will bring in nearly 100 professional cyclists, and you do not want to miss it."
Chester Country residents will have the chance to observe nearly 100 professional cyclists from all over the United States, as well as several cyclists from other countries. These cycling events will help to enhance the visibility of cycling as a sport leading up to the velodrome coming to Coatesville.
